A collaborative performance of my Equity Suite for concert band involving students from Chute Middle School social studies, advanced art and honors band classes.

Social studies and art students will create a series of brief performance pieces and accompanying art work exploring various equity-related issues – all interwoven into the music.

UPDATE: My five-movement suite is now in full rehearsal with the Chute Middle School Honors Band in Evanston and all six Chute social studies classes have decided the formats of their social justice-related presentations.

The advanced art students at Chute have also begun work on their illustrations for our performance. Special thanks goes to Foundation 65 for their funding of this project and to the wonderful teachers and students at Chute Middle School for embracing this project and making it their own!
